Does the Easter Bunny have a sled?

We woke up Easter morning to about a foot of snow! It started snowing Saturday morning, but the snow didn't start to stick to the ground until about 4 pm. By dinner time there were a few inches on the ground and by morning......


Luckily it didn't hinder our spring break plans. I can't even imagine the whining that would have accompanied us missing our trip!!!!

Here's a little bit of excitement from the kids looking for their Easter Bunny eggs (as Kierstin calls them). At the end of the first video Kierstin says, "Ooooo, Easter Bunny come to my house and did some work."

A visit from the Foltz Family

Brady, one of Garrett's best friends from Manhattan, and Jenny, one of mine, came to visit this past week. We all had a great time. The kids played and played and played some more! Garrett said he was really lucky to have such a good friend that would come all the way to Colorado to see him. They didn't miss a beat and jumped right back in where they left off. The day they arrived we got an unexpected 6 inches of snow. The kids built a snowman with Paca (Brady's grandma). We also went to It'z (Chuck E. Cheese on steroids), the zoo, and America the beautiful park, a fun park downtown.

Skiing with Devon

We went skiing with Devon and Nancy this weekend. Devon's cousin, Bailey, went with us too. We went to Monarch Ski Resort again. Everyone had a great time. Devon and Bailey caught on and by the end of the day were having fun (Bailey did more of a half of a half day, but still....)! Garrett is really catching on and Gavin is amazing. Playing Lotion with Devon

Devon and Nancy came to visit this weekend. They got here very late Thursday night and first thing Friday morning Kierstin cornered Devon for some lotion fun!!!

Here's some samples of Kierstin handing out some love to Cheetah and Gavin!!! Cheetah ran past the other day with some white stripes on her fur and I thought it was lotion, after trying to rub it off I realized it was toothpaste....doesn't come out without a bath.

Uncle Dave sings Little Red Jeep!

We have a random kids cd that we've had since Gavin was one. Well, the kids have decided that they think Uncle Dave sings these songs. We were in the car the other day and Garrett said, "This song sounds just like Uncle Dave. It sounds like how he sounds when he smiles. His smile is really bright."
I tried to capture this on video later, but he wouldn't repeat it....but here's a little clip of the song and Garrett talking about it.

What a hobby

Here's a recent dinner conversation.....
Garrett being really loud and a little crazy was told by Gavin to, "Calm down and quit being so crazy." Garrett promptly replies, "But I like being crazy, that's my hobby!!"

Nicknames

Gavin has decided we should call Kierstin by her given name (Kierstin) rather that Kiki, because he's afraid she'll go to preschool and be confused if they call her Kierstin. I told him that she knows her name is Kierstin, but some people have nicknames and they go by those, sometimes they even become the main name they use. Garrett then chimed in with some kind of question about what constitutes a nickname. Gavin said, "Well, you know, sometimes people call me Gav." Garrett said, "Oh, yah, my nickname is Gar-bear.....(pause) or sometimes sweetie-pie."

Playing lotion

The latest thing Kierstin likes to play is 'lotion'. She'll track down Darin or I and ask us to "Pway wotion wif me." So, we plop down on the floor next to a huge basket that no longer holds diapers.....yep, she's fully potty trained even at night!!! The basket is full of lotions that she's pilfered from all over the place. Once upon a time, I had a great selection of lotion in my nightstand, no longer, I had lotion in the car, no longer, my purse, no longer....so if you come for a visit, protect your lotion!!!! She then puts lotion on you, all types and you smell like a person who has visited a flower garden, and trimmed some aloe, while eating cucumbers and oatmeal, and drinking a pina colada... it's quite the fragrance nightmare!

Bath time

Kierstin loves to get in the bath (sometimes). She wanted me to take some pictures of her making faces the other night. She also gave a couple video performances.

Garrett lost his first tooth this weekend. It has been loose since November and finally fell out! It was just barely loose FOREVER, then about a week ago it really started to wiggle and now he's proud to show off his missing tooth grin!

Beautiful weather

A day for the dog....we took Cheetah to a dog park last weekend, as did the rest of Colorado Springs!!!! It was packed with free roaming dogs. The kids loved seeing all the different dogs and Cheetah had a blast running free.



Saturday was unbelievably warm. Gavin was at a friend's house all day, Kierstin, Garrett, Darin and I headed to a cool park downtown (once again as did the rest of Colorado Springs) and let the kids run wild!


We have had some occasional beautiful weather here lately. Kierstin is a crazy bubble blower...she can't seem to get enough of the fun!! Here are some very lady like photos of her blowing bubbles.
