Disney World!

We just returned from a fun-filled (and exhausting) week in DisneyWorld. We went with my parents and my sister and her husband. The first day the boys, Darin and I went to Disney Quest. None of us had been there before. We really enjoyed it. It was 5 stories of virtual reality and video games. After Disney Quest, we met the rest of the gang for dinner at the T-Rex Cafe and a stroll around Downtown Disney. The boys loved the Lego store and Kierstin loved the Disney store...she was pumped to see the princess statues outside the store.

Gavin wins again!

The Colorado Springs Gazette held a writing contest again this year. Gavin and Garrett both entered. They ended up in the same category (1st-6th grade) and Gavin won first..second year running. Garrett is okay with not winning, he understands he was one of the youngest writers. However, he is jealous that Gavin gets to be in the paper again.

They had to write about a photograph of an old truck with Christmas lights on it. Both of their stories were great.

Thanksgiving preschool style

Kierstin's preschool class sang a little song before their Thanksgiving feast....here's my interpretation of Kierstin's thoughts.

She actually did a great job in the little performance, but every photo I have makes it look like she's a juvi bored out of her mind!

A Princess?

Go Utes!

One of Darin's favorite things about being done with residency is his renewed love of college sports!! We all joined him to cheer on the Utes when they played their enemy BYU. Go Utes!

Kierstin doesn't have a Utah shirt, so she picked out this dress and called it her Utah dress.

Garrett's Birthday Party

Garrett had a great birthday party. He had a joint party with his friend, Vincent. They invited the boys from their class to Laser Quest for two games of Laser Tag....great fun!


Here's Kierstin....who had to wear her party dress to the party. Her look says it all....what this messy craziness of stinky boys is what you call a party? Where's the tea? The princesses? The quiet!!

Wintery weather

These photos are from right before Thanksgiving. It didn't snow, just looked like Jack Frost worked hard all night! It was absolutely beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice.
This was about 7 am....in our backyard, Cheyenne Mountain is covered in clouds.

As I was leaving for the gym, I took this photo in our front yard about 9 am. I ran inside to grab a water bottle...came back out and the hovering cloud was completely gone.

Bike ride

The boys have recently discovered mountain biking. They both love it! Kierstin is not too big of a fan of the 'bumpy roads' in her trailer. Here's some photos before they took off on a neighborhood bike ride.

Preschool field trip

Kierstin's preschool class went on a field trip to a food pantry near their school. They all brought in food, loaded it in a wagon and walked to the pantry to drop it off to help the homeless. They discussed it at school and at home we talked about how nice it is to help people. Well, when I asked Kierstin about her field trip, all she tells me is that the little person means you can cross the street and the hand means you have to stop. Maybe she'll get the giving spirit later!
